Not true. NATO is not dead, the US is just not the leader anymore and Europe, or a country in Europe, needs to pick up the baton and lead. The US will merely be a member of a large, mature organisation that can manage their own affairs, even if one of the members is reluctant to commit or contribute. Without a fair share of contributions (Trump's words??) their status within the organisation will diminish dramatically.
