OK, this is great. Just found an #iOS equivalent of #MacWhisper and it’s free. Not sure if it always is, but it certainly is right now.
It’s #Accessible and works well with #VoiceOver.

@sindresorhus you are great. That is all. :)
@FreakyFwoof What's Mac Whisper?
@rooktallon A Mac version of the app I just shared, basically.
@FreakyFwoof Um... But what does Mac Whisper do?
@rooktallon What this app does, but for Mac...
@FreakyFwoof Uhhh, at the risk of going in circles, what is it that this app does that Mac Whisper also does?
@rooktallon Transcribes speech to text better than Siri or Google likely ever will. Can export that to subtitles for youtube videos etc. Click the link and you can read about it for yourself. Easier than me trying to explain it.
@FreakyFwoof Wow, so cool!
@FreakyFwoof Can I just tell you how much I love how specific I have to be every time I ask you a question? I don't know if it's a British thing but I like it.
@rooktallon Part-British, part-my snark. lol
@FreakyFwoof There's a medium model that's half the size and almost as accurate in English, so I wish it supported that. Otherwise, this looks really useful. I have a shortcut that sends audio files to the Whisper API but that isn't free, and it's obviously not as private. Thanks for this.
@FreakyFwoof This program has a Mac version as well where you can download many different models. Very impressive in my particular use cases so far.
@TheVoiceGuy You can with Mac Whisper too, I just bought Mac Whisper pro to support the dev.
@FreakyFwoof ahh, I didn’t know they had a pro version. What’s it like? Expensive?
@TheVoiceGuy Only $22 USD, something like that.
@FreakyFwoof Wow, sounds like a great find. Off to check it out!
